Recenter and Refocus

Updated: Dec 13, 2022

Meditation is a great tool to refocus and center yourself when life becomes hectic, distracting and overwhelming. With regular practice, meditation can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve physical health, and alleviate pain associated with stress and fatigue. Using an app to learn, improve, encourage or maintain a regular meditation practice can help you customize your mediation to your schedule, level, and mindset. These applications provide guided meditation sessions ranging in duration from one minute to 30 minutes. Several of our Estacar executives utilize this tool and we have put together a list of a few of our favorites:

1. Headspace

  • This app has the largest variety of meditations, with guided sessions for beginners and less-structured programming for the meditation pros. The interface has an appealingly cohesive design, and the platforms rich library of meditations is well organized and easy to navigate.

2. Calm

  • With this app, stressed users or those out there just looking for a mental breather have access to a variety of meditations designed to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, boost focus and more! Users can also choose from over 250 sleep stories, plus gentle music, guided meditation lessons and nature sounds. While some content is free, the premium subscription unlocks all its meditations, stories, music and more. Calm offers on-hand experts available on mobile and other smart devices. There is even a “Calm Masterclass” within its platform, which features audio classes with world-renowned experts on mediation techniques. Estacar CEO, Cori Burns loves this one!

3. Insight Timer

  • This app has a diverse portfolio of features from live workshops, soothing music playlists, expert talks and courses from its catalog of experienced educators in the field. In addition to its guided and freeform meditations, the platform allows users to browse niche categories like “For Parents” and more. It even facilitates in-person meditation meetups. While this app offers plenty at no cost, additional features are available with a subscription.

4. Meditation Studio

  • Want more control of your mindfulness journey? This app allows you to make a custom playlist of your favorite courses, at a good cost! This product offers a selection of 2, 5, 10 and 15-minute meditations geared toward beginners and pros across a variety of styles, educators and categories. Users can follow guided lessons on breath, body, heart, and even visualization or inspiration. The app also allows you to track progress and schedule sessions to keep you focused! It even has unique collections designed for veterans, kids, teens, new mothers and more!

5. The Mindfulness App

  • If you are a beginner, or a master meditator, this app has a wide range of free and paid choices for relaxing the mind and body. With over250 guided and silent meditations, the app gives its users different customization factors like profile personalization, timed sessions in which they control how long it lasts and even the option to set reminders to help build a routine! Routine is key! This app comes in several languages and has lovely background sounds if you choose.
