8 Things You Need to Do Before 9 AM For A More Productive Day

Do you ever feel like you have trouble getting stuff done? Or maybe you don’t feel like you’re being as productive as you could be during the day. Having a great morning routine and the right positive mindset to carry you through the day is so important if you want to be successful and get stuff done.

There are 8 things you can do before 9 AM each morning to have a more productive day, following these habits and adding them to your morning routine will help boost your productivity levels, help you get closer to achieving your goals, and transform your life for the better!

GET UP EARLY The very first thing you’ll want to consider doing to have an awesomely productive day is to get up early! Whether that’s an hour or 4 hours earlier compared to your usual time, you have more hours of the day to use to your advantage to get stuff done. These few extra hours you’re awake are so crucial and can add up big time over a period. Let’s say you get up 2 hours earlier each day for a whole entire year, you would get a whole whopping 730 extra hours a year to get stuff done! Mindblown? Use this extra time to work on yourself, write in your journal, have quiet time to reflect, work on a side hustle, get some chores done around the house, and so much more! The possibilities are endless.

WORK OUT Do you ever feel like you never have time to work out during the day because you’re too swamped with your 8 to 5 desk job only to have to come home to care for your kids, run errands, and finish up chores? It’s easy to just skip out on exercising with all the craziness that happens in our lives but taking care of your health is extremely important and should be a priority. If you feel like you’re not able to slot in time to work out during your normal routine, start a new habit. Whether that’s dragging yourself out of bed to go to the gym before work every other day or walking your dog around the block for 20 to 30 minutes right when you wake up, getting your exercise right in the morning can be a great way to start off your day. Other great upsides are that you’ll kick your butt into shape, feel better about yourself, feel more confident, and learn to practice willpower and self-discipline.

CONNECT WITH THE WORLD & READ THE NEWS

Do you feel like you aren’t as connected and up to date with what is happening around the world as you should be?  It’s so important to constantly be learning about what is happening worldwide so that you’re both informed and able to keep up or start daily conversations with others around you. Take some quiet time in the mornings when you wake up to focus on reading the news and get up to speed with what is happening.

PLAN YOUR DAY

Another thing you need to do before 9AM to help you have a more productive day is to have a mini-planning session and get a rough overview of your day. You want to accomplish something each day and tackle the most important outstanding tasks on your to-do list so that you’re on your way to getting closer to realizing your goals and dreams. We all only have 24 hours a day to get stuff done so whether your goal is to graduate with a degree, learn a new skill, or starting your own business, planning is very important to help you get there as efficiently as possible. Seeing yourself check off your to-do list one by one will make you feel more motivated to accomplish more and you’ll feel like you've spent the day being productive!

MEDITATE

A very important way to achieve success and be as productive as possible is having the right mindset. Making sure that you always start the day with a positive outlook is essential to have a great day and be as motivated as possible. A great way to encourage a positive mind early in the morning is to meditate. Meditating is a great way to refocus, destress, clear your mind of negative thoughts, and improve your overall wellbeing. Start the day off new by adding a little bit of mindfulness and yoga into the mix and you’ll feel more recharged and ready to take on the rest of the day!

MAKE YOUR BED

Starting your day off by making your bed might sound silly and obvious but it’s something that can really help boost your productivity levels right at the start of the day. Making sure your room is tidy, orderly, and organized subconsciously give you a feeling of calmness and less anxiety, which will help make you feel ready for the day. If you don’t tend to make your bed in the mornings, you might want to try starting today and see how more productive it makes you feel!

DRINK A TALL GLASS OF WATER

Right when you wake up, it’s a good idea to rehydrate yourself with a tall glass of water or two. Since our bodies are made mostly of water, it’s so important to drink 8 glasses a day to hydrate yourself properly. Drinking water often gets lost amidst our busy lifestyles or we just don’t have the willpower to drink so many glasses a day. You’ll feel more clear-headed and ready to take on the day when you’re hydrated and cleansed of the toxins from within your body.

EAT A NUTRITIOUS BREAKFAST

If you want to feel your best and be as productive as possible, help yourself reach 100% capacity by making sure you eat a nutritious breakfast each morning. It’s important to feed your body right so that you have the energy to get what you need to get done. Without fuel, your brain won’t function properly, and you’ll end up getting distracted more easily.

Today is a great day to have a great day!
